Product description

These twelve magical tales tell, among other things, how the camel got his hump; the leopard his spots; the elephant his trunk; how the alphabet was made; and how a butterfly caused mayhem at the court of King Solomon. Rightfully considered one of the enduring classics of children's literature, Just So Stories is an enchanting collection that still delights and illuminates over a century after it was first published. Beautifully illustrated throughout by Kipling himself, this Macmillan Collector's Library edition also contains an afterword by editor Marcus Clapham. Designed to appeal to the booklover, the Macmillan Collector's Library is a series of beautiful gift editions of much loved classic titles. Macmillan Collector's Library are books to love and treasure. Author Information Rudyard Kipling was born in India in 1865. After intermittently moving between India and England during his early life, he settled in the latter in 1889, published his novel The Light That Failed in 1891 and married Caroline (Carrie) Balestier the following year. They returned to her home in Brattleboro, Vermont, where Kipling wrote the two Jungle Books and Captains Courageous. He continued to write prolifically and was the first Englishman to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1907, but his later years were darkened by the death of his son John at the Battle of Loos in 1915. He died in 1936. Sdílet 0

About Restorio.eu

We give things a new story. We sell and buy books, Lego sets, board games and PC games. In the beginning, it was the wish of two enthusiasts to improve the functioning of second-hand bookstores and be beneficial to the world. Today, we create a huge community of conscious people who are looking for a sustainable shopping choice from a financial and environmental perspective. And with them, with you, we write new stories of things that would otherwise remain forgotten. We will send you the money for everything you sell to us immediately. With us, you don't wait for the books to sell. We will do what we say. We believe that even the smallest details are of great importance, so we think through every aspect of our business, from the way we buy books, through packaging materials to communication with each of you. We have designed our Restocks loyalty program of shopping credits to reward you for every support you give.
